2021 Club Championships

DSC_0076.png

The Club Championships were held on the range on the 25th of September 2021. As is traditional the club shot the York series of rounds but, due to the pandemic cutting the year short, we held it as a handicapped shoot. This allowed everybody present to compete for the club trophies.

The weather could not have been better for archery and some fantastic scores were achieved, especially with the help of the sugary high provided by Elaine’s fantastic baking.

Club legends Rich Allan and Mark Hayes put in quite the performance at the annual Scorton Arrow competition this weekend (31st July 2021) and not just with their snazzy clothes.

Mark walked away with the “Gold Medal” for the highest score of the meeting and the “Silver Bugle” for the Yorkshireman with the greatest number of hits. Rich managed the worst white at the last end.

The Scorton Arrow is the worlds oldest recorded sporting event (according to their website http://www.scortonarrow.com/) and dates back to 1673.
